Paris Saint Germain midfielder and Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot transfer saga has taken a whole new turn after the midfielder was included in the Ligue 1 giants champions league squad, according to The Mirror.

The 23-year-old was said to have been frozen out of the first team activities by manager Thomas Tuchel after refusing to extend his contract which runs out at the end of the season.

The midfielder last appeared for PSG on December 11 during their champions league match with Red Star Belgrade and has not appeared in any other matches since then.

Rabiot refused to sign a contract extension with the club and has instead been looking for a way out, prompting the club to freeze him out of the first team.

He was said to have been in talks with Barcelona whose interest cooled off after they signed Ajax youngster Frenkie de Jong.

However currently, the PSG boss has gone on to include the out of favor midfielder who has appeared in all but one of their Champions league games so far.

The France international who failed to make the French national team squad last year has spent most of his career in PSG joined the French side in 2012 and has won 16 major honours since.

He will be available for free in the summer and continues to remain a target for Barcelona who still lead the race for his signature, as well as Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.
