Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that rejuvenated midfield star Paul Pogba will be available for selection when Manchester United travel to Tottenham on Sunday.
The Premier League clash is Solskjaer’s first major test as caretaker manager, and the Norwegian will want his in-form midfielder firing fit.
United flew out to Dubai early this week for a warm-weather training camp, but Pogba remained behind to receive treatment.
Pogba later linked up with his team-mates, and Solskjaer expects the Frenchman to return to full training.
‘Marcos (Rojo) has gone back home because his injury is taking a bit longer than we thought,’ he told United’s official website.
‘Fred’s partner is expecting a baby and Paul Pogba has had his knock and has had a few days of treatment back home.
‘Hopefully, we can get Paul on his feet during this week.’ While Pogba is on track to play against Spurs, Marcos Rojo has been sent home for further treatment on a unspecified injury.
United are eager to make a statement against Tottenham at Wembley, with Solskjaer aiming for his sixth win in a row as United boss.
Solskjaer is yet to taste defeat as United manager and has helped rejuvenate the Red Devils’ forward line.
Pogba’s transformation under Solskjaer has seen the midfielder score four goals in four games and provide three assists in those matches.
United are ten points behind Tottenham in the Premier League table and will want to continue a push to narrow the gap between them and the top four.
The Red Devils are still six points off fourth place and Solskjaer’s objective for the rest of the season will be to snatch a Champions League spot.
