Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos met with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez this week to discuss his future at the club.

The Spanish midfielder joined the Gunners on loan in the summer transfer window and has established himself as a fan favourite at the Emirates since day one.

His loan deal did not include a purchase option, though, and the expectation was that he would head back to the Bernabeu next summer.

However, El Desmarque say that is now unlikely with the midfielder ‘willing’ to say goodbye to Real Madrid and move to Arsenal permanently.

He has reportedly informed Madrid that if Arsenal want to sign him, then he wants the two clubs to find an agreement.

He will prioritise a move to Arsenal over other options and has asked Pérez to meet with the Gunners in January to try and sort it out.

Ceballos is ‘hopeful’ the two clubs can agree on a reasonable price for him although Pérez may scupper that idea.

Madrid paid €14m to sign Ceballos from Real Betis, and they want at least three times that amount were they to sell him as that would cover the money they’ve paid in wages and represent a profit.

Arsenal are unlikely to be willing to pay that amount, but a figure close to €35m could be enough to convince the Real Madrid chief to sell.
