Mesut Ozil’s resolution with Arsenal will decide how the club would handle Alexis Sanchez, according to Starsport.
Both players are into the final year of their contracts and have so far refused to sign new deals at the club. Arsenal are now prepared to sell one of them to avoid losing them both for nothing at the end of the season.
And as there is no serious interest in Ozil, it is likely that he’d be the one to stay at the club beyond the January transfer window.
Therefore the club may have to sell Alexis Sanchez who is attracting interest from a host of top clubs.
Sanchez was the subject of a £60m bid from Manchester City in the summer but the move didn’t happen because Arsenal couldn’t bring in a replacement on time. The Etihad club are expected to return for him in the new year and could just have their offer accepted this time around.
A January move will then allow Arsenal keep Ozil until his contract expires at the end of the season. Should clubs begin to show interest in Ozil before the winter transfer window, Arsenal would now have to decide whether to keep the German or Sanchez.
