Liverpool could be set to lose one of their young talents in the form of Bobby Adekanye as the 19-year-old looks set to depart Merseyside for Lazio, the Liverpool Echo have claimed.
The Reds were keen to retain Adekanye’s services but were left frustrated by his agent during discussions over a potential extension.
Adekanye is reportedly negotiating a five-year deal with Serie A side Lazio.
If he can agree terms, he will leave Anfield next summer.
Having stepped up to under 23 level last season with 14 appearances in Premier League 2, he has maintained that this season without becoming a more important player for the side, providing just one goal and two assists in league action from attack.
Adekanye has trained with the first team this season but has been unable to break into the side.
The Nigerian, who represents the Netherlands, joined Liverpool from Barcelona three years ago.
