Antonio Conte has hailed Alvaro Morata’s performances against Arsenal on Sunday, despite the striker’s failure to find the back of the net.

The Spaniard who already had 3 goals and two assists to his name prior to the game failed to add to his tally but Conte was full of praises for him for his work ethic.

According to the boss, Morata’s link up play and work ethic was superb and he was pleased with the performance.

Conte said, as quoted by West London Sport: “In my opinion Morata played a really good game, and I am very happy with his performance.

“For me he played very well, had a lot of the ball and tried to send Willian, Pedro and our wing-backs.

“If the number nine scores he has played a good game and if not he didn’t (supposedly) play a good game, but my vision is different. I’m really happy with his performance.”

After five games, one can say Morata is still adapting to the Premier League and may not want to criticize him just yet. However, the striker must begin to score in these big games. He failed to score against Tottenham Hotspur and now Arsenal, the jury may get at his back again if he doesn’t start delivering against the big teams.
