Chelsea are one of the clubs believed to be monitoring Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

The striker finds himself at one end of power struggle at Paris and could end up being on the losing side. The Uruguay international is currently at logger heads with world record signing Neymar over set piece duties.

Neymar joined PSG for €222m in the summer and was expected to form a lethal partnership with Mbappe and Cavani but the Brazilian’s relationship with the Uruguay international was strained last weekend after both players dragged to take a set piece on two occasions in last weekend game against Lyon.

Cavani who has spent almost all his time at Paris playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic only became the main man last season but he could be relegated to the background again due to Neymar’s world record move.

And this battle for supremacy could lead to the striker leaving PSG. The Daily Mail has now listed Chelsea as one of the numerous clubs that will be lining up to sign Cavani.

Everton, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Inter Milan and his former club Napoli are also believed to be keeping tabs on his situation at PSG.

Neymar seem to be very furious with the Uruguayan and there are whispers that he has even asked the club to sell the striker.

If true, PSG may be willing to do so, considering they have to get rid of some players in order to comply with FFP.

Cavani is one player who would fetch them huge money and his huge salary on the wage bill will also go a long way in helping PSG balance their books.

However, I am not so sure Chelsea would want to spend big on Cavani after breaking it’s club record for Morata in the summer.

Even if Chelsea were to be keen on another forward to provide competition for Morata, Cavani’s age and the amount he is expected to cost won’t make him an ideal target.
