Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign out-of-favour Dominican Republic and Real Madrid attacker Mariano Diaz, according to reports.
Diaz rejoined Real Madrid from Olympique Lyon only last summer and he was handed the squad 7 Jersey formerly won by Cristiano Ronaldo as he was viewed as his replacement.
He was expected to shine his the colours of Madrid but the 25-year-old struggled to get a place in the first team.
He featured in 13 league games for Les Merenguez last summer and scored three goals. And now the signing of Eden Hazard from Madrid has pushed him out of the team completely, and Madrid are ready to cash in on him.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been looking to replace Danny Welbeck and they have been trying to lure Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace and Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth to the Emirates.
But due to paucity of funds at the club, the North London club have been unable to sign any of the attacker targets.
Nonetheless, Arsenal have a good chance of signing Diaz with reports by the Mirror claiming Madrid are ready to part ways with the winger in a £18m deal.
Despite reaching an agreement to sign William Saliba in a £27m deal, Arsenal have a chunk of their transfer budget available to sign new players and they are looking to add a centre-back and a winger to their other-wise thin squad.
Although Lucas Vasquez is also on the radar of Arsenal, Diaz seem like a better option considering his age and goal scoring ratio.
If given the opportunity, Diaz might get his career back on track and his goal record does not look very bad for a winger. Tottenham were also linked with a move for the player.
