Arsenal are continuing to be linked with a move for Nicolas Pepe despite reports suggesting lack of funds won’t see the Gunners make any major signing but loan deals will be considered.
It is understood The Gunners will have to spend as much as £72million if they want to sign Pepe this winter.
Ivory Coast international Pepe has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 21 appearances this season.
According to ESPN, Pepe is now valued at a whopping £72m (€80) after catching the eye in Ligue 1.
And that far outstrips the £41m (€45m) offer Arsenal are already reported to have made for him.
The Gunners would probably have to stump up Pepe’s price tag in full with Lille reluctant to let him go.
Pepe could then take the place of Danny Welbeck at Arsenal, with the injured forward set to be released when his contract expires in the summer.
