RB Leipzig looks set to allow Dayot Upamecano join Arsenal but on the condition that Emile Smith Rowe is included in the offer, according to reports.
Arsenal are desperate to sign a centre-back before the close of the transfer window on Thursday and they have been heavily linked with a move for the France international.
The Gunners shipped in over 50-goals in the league last season but despite earning plaudits for their business in the market this summer, they have failed to bolster their back-line.
Daniele Rugani is also on the radar of Arsenal this summer but Juventus are stalling over the Gunners proposal to sign him.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have already offered £55 million to RB Leipzig for Upamecano but the same has been knocked back.
However, there’s a twist in the pursuit of the star with Mailonline, claiming Arsenal are confident of landing the 20-year-old tough tackling centre-half albeit his German club wants Smith Rowe to join them in the deal.
Smith-Rowe spent the second half of last season on loan with the Bundesliga club but he was restricted to only three cames because of an injury.
There is no telling of Arsenal would increase their bid for the Upemecano or yield to their demand, but he’d no doubt be a classy defender for Arsenal.
