Arsenal are reportedly on the brink of completing a deal which could see David Ospina move to Turkish side Besiktas.

Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari of SportItalia and TuttoMercatoWeb claims Besiktas have reached a deal for the Colombia international over a summer move, but they still need to agree a fee with Arsenal.

Arsenal have also rejected a loan bid from Napoli for the goalkeeper, so it seems they’re trying to start a bit of a bidding war between the two clubs.

The 29-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract, is free to leave Arsenal following the £19m signing of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in June.

Arsenal are understood to prefer that Ospina leaves on a permanent basis rather than on a loan deal.

Ospina, who has been capped 90 times by Colombia, has served as Petr Cech’s understudy since joining Arsenal from Nice in 2014, although he has often been the primary option in cup competitions.

Meanwhile, Gunners striker Danny Welbeck is also on the club’s transfer list, with Besiktas credited with interest in him, but the report claims the England striker’s future was not discussed in Arsenal’s meeting with Besiktas on Thursday.
