Reports suggest Chelsea are closing in on landing Juventus defender Daniele Rugani after holding successful talks with the player’s agent.
Rugani’s representative jetted into London to hold talks with Chelsea and Juve chiefs over a January transfer on Thursday.
The Italian defender is once again facing a bleak future at Juventus with the January transfer window approaching.
As he continues to find game time hard to come by, Roma and Milan have been linked with January swoops to sign the player from the Old Lady.
Rugani only has 180 minutes in Serie A so far this season and in the Champions League, he has just played 1 minute.
It is understood a fee of around €45m plus bonuses was agreed between the parties with just personal terms to be ironed out.
It will come as a major boost for manager Maurizio Sarri who missed out on one of his top transfer targets in the summer.
The duo also have a close working relationship having spent time together during their time at Empoli.
The 24-year-old is already preparing for life in the Premier League after it was revealed he is taking English lessons with his stunning girlfriend.
Rugani have been previously linked with a move to Arsenal in the previous transfer window and it seems Chelsea are closing in on signing the Italian born star in January.
