According to a report on caughtoffside, they claim Chelsea are on the brink of signing Juventus unwanted striker Gonzalo Higuain and £60m deal could be finalised today.
The introduction of Cristiano Ronaldo is set to spark Higuain’s exit from Turin and the ESPN claims he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge to reunite with new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea are eager to bolster their front line and after Alvaro Morata failed to replicate his previous performance with Juventus at Stamford Bridge.
Recent reports have suggested that Higuain could link up again with Sarri, whom he previously worked with at Napoli, in a £53million deal.
Italian outlet TMW report that Blues bosses will sit down for negotiations with Higuain’s agent and brother, Nicolas, today.
It is said that the two clubs are very close to agreeing a £53m transfer fee.
The 30-year-old has been offered a three-year contract worth £110,000-a-week deal by Chelsea and is keen on the move.
He has scored 55 goals in 105 games for the Turin giants but now looks set to finally make his move to the Premier League.
It is understood that Chelsea are also set to tie up a deal for Higuain’s Juventus team-mates, defender Daniele Rugani.
