According to Calcio Mercato, Napoli are looking into the possibility of signing David Ospina on a permanent deal in the January transfer window.
The Colombia goal stopper fell down the pecking order at Arsenal with the introduction of Bernd Leno from Bayern Leverkusen for £22.5million over the summer.
Ospina is currently on loan to Napoli and will make the move permanent at the end of the season for a reported €3.5m.
However, it appears as though Napoli are looking to potentially snap Ospina up in January for a cheaper fee if they can.
Ospina is Napoli’s current number one and has made 11 appearances across the Serie A and Champions League.
He made 70 appearances for the Gunners across four seasons, but only 29 of those outings came in the Premier League.
Ospina joined the Gunners from Nice in 2014 and initially overtook Wojciech Szczesny for the No. 1 spot. However, he has remained a backup at the Emirates ever since Cech was brought in from Chelsea in 2015.
He was used mainly as the cup goalkeeper by Arsene Wenger, and helped the team beat Chelsea in last year’s FA Cup final at Wembley.
