Fernando Torres is going to share his position with new signing from Newcastle man Demba Ba and Chelsea has made three-and-half-year deal with him.
27-years- old striker has moved to European Champions for £7.5million and he will take 29 for team Blues. He is linking with Chelsea before January transfer window, but that deal was not confirmed by both teams.
Chelsea sold Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool for £12m and spent that on Ba. Chelsea does that always in previous year. Chelsea hopes Ba can fix for different game from his arrival and he can make good formation with Stamford Bridge.
Ba about new team: “It feels good to be here, I’m very happy and very proud.
“It was important for me, and for Newcastle, to get my future sorted and now we can move on. Now they have the whole month to buy someone and for me as well, the sooner the better. Now I am here I just need to get settled in.
“When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that’s something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one.”
So Chelsea made a fine move o fill their holes and Torres must fight hard for his place.
Manager Rafa Benitez is happy for new striker. He said: “He gives us a different option up front. We are very happy with this signing. He can pass, he’s good in the air, has good movement and can score goals.”
