News emerging has revealed that Arsenal are still in the race to sign Wilfried Zaha.
Nicolas Pepe is close to sealing a deal with Arsenal as reported by Goal but according to recent news, that would not stop them from pursuing Zaha.
Arsenal started the summer amid reports that they had just £40 million transfer budget after failing to qualify for Champions League for the third season in a row.
But their activities in the transfer market this summer has been one of a kind for Arsenal with the imminent arrival of Pepe and the potential addition of Zaha.
After Pepe’s arrival is confirmed, Arsenal will have spent a total of £105m following the recent additions Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba.
It’s still a wonder to think what plans Unai Emery has for all these players, though they would be an upgrade on both Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
According to I News, Arsenal might have to pay up to £60 million for Zaha, which is a bit on the high side even if he is a player who could bring uniqueness to Emery’s squad.
Mostly, however, if Arsenal secures Pepe, then signing a central defender would be the next move.
