Eden Hazard says he will not join Paris Saint Germain, because of his relationship with Lille.

PSG made a huge statement in the summer, signing both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe for a combined fee that could rise up to a total of €400m.

The reason behind the French club’s activities in the transfer market is to put together a group of the world best players that will enable them become a force to reckon with in Europe.

Unsurprisingly, PSG are one of the clubs that have tried to sign Hazard in the past and recently Thomas Meunier urged the Belgian to consider a move to Paris.

However, Hazard insists he will never move to the Paris club because of his relationship with Lille.

The midfielder joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012 and appears to still have a special place in his heart for his former club. He added that he will still love to return to France later in his career but it will only be to play for Lille.

“There are some big clubs, and it was an attractive league even when I played in it six years ago,” he said as quoted by Football.London.

“Big stars want to play in Ligue 1, and that is a good thing. But if I am to return it will be to play for Lille – they are my club.

“I still have a career to carve out, with a number of seasons ahead of me.”

Hazard has become one of the world’s top footballer at Chelsea, winning two league title and the 2015 PFA player of the year.

He is hoping to lead the Blues to more success both in the league and on continental level and also try to compete with Neymar when Ronaldo and Messi’s era is over.
