Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam has claimed Giroud move to Everton collapsed because his partner was against the idea of relocating to the Merseyside.

The Toffees pursued Giroud in July but had to end their interest after he decided to stay at the Emirates.

Wenger later revealed that he had given the striker the chance to decide his own future but he opted to stay at Arsenal.

Adam who has good network at Everton has now claimed Giroud snubbed a move to the Goodison Park because his partner didn’t want the move.

“I heard his partner refused the deal,” Adam said, as reported by the Daily Star.

“The deal was nearly done, he wanted to come, but I heard it was his girlfriend or wife that turned it down.”

Giroud stated in August that his heart and soul told him to stay at Arsenal, i wonder if he actually meant “his soulmate”?

One can’t really say if it’s true, except those in the striker’s inner circle but since he has decided to stay, it’s all good for Arsenal.

The striker will offer us another alternative and a different kind of threat to Alexandre Lacazette up front.

Despite not being a starter, Wenger and the France national team boss Didier Deschamps rate him highly, which just goes a long way to show how important he can be for a team.

His never say die attitude and willingness to keep fighting will serve Arsenal well during the course of the season.
