Reports making the round claims Chelsea have agreed a deal I principal as possible replacement for Cesc Fabregas who completed a move to Monaco on Friday.
It is understood Chelsea have deals for Zenit’s £30m Leandro Paredes and Cagliari’s £40m Nicolo Barella lined up to replace Fabregas and are deciding which to press ahead with, according to reports.
Sarri also has Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Danny Drinkwater and Mateo Kovacic to choose from, with the latter expected to turn his loan arrangement into a permanent move at the end of the season.
Cagliari ace Barella has also been linked with a move to Arsenal during the January window, while Paredes of Zenit was touted as a target for Real Madrid and Juventus last year.
Chelsea have also been offered hope in their pursuit of boss Maurizio Sarri’s first choice striker target Gonzalo Higuain, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus .
Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso refused to rule out Higuain’s exit, saying: “I hope Higuain remains as long as possible, but if that doesn’t happen, then we’ll see.”
