Manchester United have reportedly turned their attention to Ruben Dias after baulking at Napoli’s asking price for Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Express.
An initial £85m inquiry from United for central defender Koulibaly was rejected last week by the Serie A club.
Dias is highly rated at Manchester United and is one of their top targets this summer but the cense-back will be hard to obtain.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola say that Dias is set to sign a new contract with Benfica that would see his value rise to around €100m.
Dias’ current buyout clause is €60m but his increase in wages and improved terms would bump that up to an astronomical number.
However, he won’t be cheap after Lyon rejected £30m for him 12 months.
Dias is also being monitored by Juventus, having enjoyed a really impressive season with Benfica.
In addition to Dias, also being tracked by Tottenham , United are chasing Swansea winger Dan James, Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ajax centre-half Matthijs de Ligt, Monaco playmaker Youri Teilemans and Leicester defender Harry Maguire.
That shopping list may grow longer yet depending on what happens to the large group of unsettled names at Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba, David De Gea, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez could all be on their way this summer.
