Rob Holding has finally made it off Arsenal’s injury list updates, over nine months after suffering a knee injury against Manchester United.

Arsenal posted their latest team news update on Wednesday morning, ahead of the Europa League clash with Frankfurt the following day. For the first time in a long time, Holding wasn’t on it.

The centre-back has been playing with the u23s recently, and he’s already completely 90 minutes on a couple of occasions. The first was against Everton on August 23rd, almost a month ago now, and the second was against Leicester City last Saturday.

The fact that the defender hasn’t had any setbacks over that time suggests he should be ready for reintegration to the senior squad now. Holding’s removal from the injury list just confirms this.

Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney and Konstantinos Mavropanos are all listed as being back in full training with the first-team squad. Mavropanos played just over an hour in the Leicester game at the weekend, whilst the other two are likely to make similar appearances for the u23s soon.

The news isn’t so good for Alex Lacazette, who is likely to be back in October. That’s what we’ve been told by Arsenal from the start, so at least there’s no setback.
