According to a report in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are still keen on signing out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
The previous week the Egypt international was connected with a move to the Turkish giants following reports they would travel to London to hold transfer negotiations with the Gunners.
Ajansspor have reported on the latest developments with regards to Galatasaray’s pursuit of the Arsenal star and they say the Turkish outfit still want to take the former Basel man on a season-long loan deal.
This summer transfer window the Lions have made it their priority to sign another central midfielder following the departures of Fernando and Badou Ndiaye last month.
It’s claimed their head coach Faith Terim has asked the club’s management to accelerate their search for a central midfielder and Mohamed looks to be an option at this stage.
The Super Lig outfit still have nearly three weeks to get a reported deal done for the Gunners man with the Turkish transfer deadline only closing at the end of this month.
With the summer arrivals at the Emirates Stadium, it seems Mohamed will struggle to get minutes this season and he may have to move on.
Meantime, Unai Emery recently revealed there could be more stars set to leave Arsenal over the coming weeks as he aims to trim his squad.
“In the next 20-25 days some players will leave. It’s the reason, I want to close our squad clearly,” Unai said.
According to Football London , the four stars most likely to depart are Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal, Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe.
