Ivorian midfielder Jean Michael Seri has a year left on his contract with Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be the frontrunners in the race for his signature.
And fans of both clubs are on red alert after French journalist Nabil Djellit revealed Seri is in London this evening.
Djellit, who works for a number of football-focused French outlets, has now revealed the 26-year-old has travelled to the UK.
“Info: Jean-Michael Seri is in London… Pending departure, for reminder, he is in contact with Arsenal, Chelsea… [More] to follow,” wrote Djellit on Twitter.
Seri is reportedly keen to seal a move to the Premier League and he has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s situation is complicated though with Antonio Conte still in position as manager.
The Ivory Coast international’s agent, Franklin Mala, explained last month that clubs face a race against time to snap him up for a bargain price though.
“The €40m (£35m) termination clause expires on July 15, so you have to pay it by this date,” said Mala. “After July 15, Nice can ask for any amount.
“Arsenal? No, I do not want to talk about it. There are two teams of the Premier [League] on Seri.
“I cannot say anything else. Image rights are not an obstacle.”
