Shkodran Mustafi has hit out at reports linking him with a move away from Arsenal.
The German was heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan in the summer but he has now revealed that he was never close to leaving the Emirates.
In the summer. various reports claimed Inter were very close to signing Mustafi and some have continued to link the defender with a move to the San Siro club but Mustafi has now blasted those rumors labeling it s**t.
The defender said he has never considered leaving Arsenal and there was never a time he was close to joining Inter.
“You like to get the s***, the biggest s***,” the Germany international said, as reported by Goal.
“That’s your job. You are asking me about it, it’s your job from the people outside, talking and thinking that they know everything.
“What happens in the changing room is the real thing. I don’t understand why people just talk about things they cannot know about.
“If I have been talking to clubs or if I haven’t, it’s only rumours. Obviously there are so many newspapers, they need something to write because it’s boring if the paper is empty.
“I’m standing in front of you in an Arsenal shirt.”
Despite spending just one season at Arsenal, it was a surprise to many of us to see the defender’s future called into question.
However, it sounded too good to be false and I am certain that many of us weren’t expecting him to remain here at the close of the window.
