Owen Hargreaves, former England midfielder, joins with Queens Park Rangers and attending the practice session for Premier League 2012-13. QPR believes he can get his fitness back.

Manchester City has released May 2012 him from the club. After joined Manchester City, he played only 13 minutes in Premier League for them.

First Club:

Hargreaves started his football life in the age of 16 with Bayern Munich and he played for them Seven years. In these Seven years of his life in Germany, Bayern won four titles and one Champions League.


31-years-old Hargreaves’s first appearance for England was in the year of 2001 friendly match against Netherlands. He showed himself to the World was during the World Cup 2006 in Germany. He earned 42 caps for England. England’s player of the year 2006 and England Player of the World cup 2006 are his greatest achievements so far.

Premier League Debut:

After the World Cup 2006, Manchester United signed him for 17million in 2007. He had struggled a lot with injuries, after signed by Manchester United. He appeared only 39 matches for them with two major knee injuries so Manchester United didn’t continue his deal.

Then he showed his fitness through YouTube videos on websites and joined with Manchester City. He scored a debut goal for City, but he couldn’t continue for a long time. His injuries suffered him again.

City released him end of last season. Now Hargreaves in QPR and he started his training with the new team.

QPR Boss Mark Hughes told: ‘Owen is training with the group. There is no obligation for either party.

‘He is keen to retain his fitness and we are more than happy to help him by allowing him to train with us and use our facility at Harlington.’

QPR believes Hargreaves can regain his fitness and will deliver good game for them.
