Naby Keita (thigh) is the only player that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to rule out for the Gameweek 9 trip to Huddersfield.

He did not mention anyone of Mohamed Salah (muscle), Sadio Mané (thumb), Virgil van Dijk (rib) and James Milner (hamstring injury) by name in Friday’s press conference, explaining that all of them were being assessed.

Reports in the media this week have been positive as far as Salah and van Dijk are concerned with less certainty expressed over Mané and Milner.

However, all have trained. Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to return at right-back, his rotation against Manchester City possibly to allow the more defensive Joe Gomez to play in that position.

With more opportunity for offensive gain, and reduced threat in the other direction, Alexander-Arnold feels the more obvious choice.

Gomez should slot back into central defence with Dejan Lovren the most likely to drop to the bench.
