Lucas Torreira wants to leave Arsenal, as per a report from the Daily Mail.
During the international break, Torreira’s agent hinted that his client was unhappy at the Emirates and in an interview with Tiempo de Futbol, the Uruguayan admitted that he wants to play for Boca Juniors.
The 23-year-old was keen not to be too disrespectful in a public interview, as he seemingly still values Arsenal, but his comments will be a concern to those Gunners fans who’d like the midfielder stay at the club.
Today, Arsenal need me to be focused. I can’t start talking about another team. I need to be focused and when the transfer period arrives we will see what happens.I don’t know what will happen in the future but I would like to be able to play for Boca. It’s a dream I have for what that institution represents.
Torreira only joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018 but it looks like he is keen to make an exit back to South America.

It’s never great to see that a player wants to leave the Gunners but with the club in such a state of fluctuation, it’s not a huge surprise to see that Torreira wants to go.
He’s made just nine appearances for the Gunners this season and it’s understandable that he wants to play more regularly. Arsenal paid around £26m for the Uruguayan international and if they do let him leave, they should at least be looking to make that fee back.
