Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé has nine appearances in all competitions this season and his last outing came in his side’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in November.
The France international has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons and he is currently on the sidelines after undergoing surgery earlier this year.
According to AS, the forward remains ‘on pole’ to leave the Catalan club, and Liverpool and Arsenal are ‘interested’ in him.
The newspaper states a senior figure from Barcelona approached the club’s medical staff to find out about the World Cup winner’s progress.
An unnamed official ‘half jokingly’ asked doctors to get Dembélé fit ‘as soon as possible’ so that he’ll be made available in the market.
It’s claimed Dembélé ‘would welcome’ the option of making a switch to the Premier League, where the Gunners ‘have already shown their predisposition’.
The 22-year-old’s current valuation is €80m and AS reckon the figure could drop down further due to the Coronavirus crisis. It would still represent a huge deal for Arsenal.
Barcelona, however, have stated Dembélé is ‘non-transferable’ yet they only maintain this stance so that he’s not devalued. A transfer is thought to be possible, and it’s presented as increasing in likeliness.
