Arsenal have been handed a massive boost ahead of their clash against Leicester City on October 22 after the international break with Mesut Ozil set to return from a back spasm.

Ozil came on as a second-half substitute in the 3-0 win over Qarabag last Thursday but missed Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday.

The midfielder has hampered by a back injury this season and the 29-year-old was unable to train before the trip to Craven Cottage.

But, following his post-World Cup international retirement, Ozil has not had to travel anywhere with the Germany national team this week, allowing him to concentrate on getting fit.

And he was back in training on Friday, participating fully with the rest of the first-team squad.

Arsenal confirmed on Friday that Ozil is back in full training after suffering from back spasms, which now means he should be available to face Leicester City after the international break.

Meanwhile, Maitland-Niles has not featured for Arsenal since he was forced off in the defeat to Manchester City during the opening weekend of the season.

Arsenal confirmed that the 21-year-old suffered a small fracture to his shin but has now returned to full training ahead of their game against Leicester City.

Petr Cech is still a doubt for the match due to a hamstring injury, as is Danny Welbeck, who was forced to pull out of international duty with England.
