Inter Milan remain keen on the signature of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil but are not open to including Joao Mario in any swap deal.
Ozil who is looking increasingly likely to depart the Emirates with no news to report regarding any progress on a contract extension is being monitored by a host of top European clubs and Inter are rumoured to be one of several clubs who hold a concrete interest in the World Cup winner.
Reports earlier in the week had indicated that the possibility of a swap deal for both midfielders was on the table, that is however now understood to not be the case.
Despite Mario’s form of late being erratic, Inter are reluctant to part company with the Portuguese international and would instead look to keep both players if they can sign Ozil next year.
According to Calciomercato via Daily Cannon, Arsenal considered Inter’s attacking-midfielder Joao Mario, but the Italian club have rejected the possibility of parting with Joao Mario.
The 24-year-old Mario who was a member of Portugal’s 2016 European Championship winning team has also been previously linked with a move to the Emirates.
