Jack Wilshere wants to join West Ham United in the winter transfer window, according to a report in the Daily Star.

The 25 year old has been on the periphery of Arsenal squad this season, featuring in just two of the Gunners games this season.

He came on as a substitute in the Europa League game against FC Koln last week and started Wednesday’s Carabao cup game against Doncaster Rovers.

The one time fan favorite has struggled with injuries since 2014 and with his contract expiring next summer, Arsenal are yet to offer him a new one.

Surprisingly, the midfielder was short of offers from top clubs in the summer as it was only Turkish sides that showed some interest in signing him but none were ready to meet Arsenal’s demands.

According to Starsport, Wilshere is currently unhappy with his situation at Arsenal and wants West Ham to save him from his current misery.

The midfielder was a boyhood West Ham fan, where he spent the early part of his youth before making the switch to Arsenal.

Wilshere’s poor injury record seems to have had a negative impact on his career to the extent that the once promising midfielder is now struggling for relevance.

It remains to be seen if West Ham will make a January move for the midfielder in January. He spent last season on loan at Bournemouth but Howe decided not to make the move permanent because of the same reason Arsenal are looking to sell him.

Should his situation not improve before January, Arsenal would have to sell him to West Ham or any other club that shows any interest in signing him.
