Joe Gomez is likely to be available again for the trip to Southampton after missing the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur due to a minor knock.

But with the Reds facing Porto in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Jurgen Klopp may decide to continue with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back for this match.

Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk could form the centre-back partnership once again, although Joel Matip is a viable starter.

Rotation looks possible at left-back, where Alberto Moreno considered ahead of Andrew Robertson. Klopp also has a wealth of options to choose from in central midfield.

The likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could push for recalls, but Adam Lallana (muscle problem) is unlikely to be back in contention for a starting role following his red card for the U23’s in midweek.

The Liverpool boss has fewer options in attack, with Dominic Solanke the main alternative to the usual front three.

Ragnar Klavan remains doubtful due to a muscle injury, while Nathaniel Clyne will again miss out.
