Speaking before the news about the European Super League upended the entire season, Alexandre Lacazette said he planned to win a trophy with Arsenal before talking with the club about his future.

Alexandre Lacazette is out of contract next summer and there has been a lot of speculation that the forward would be moving on this summer.

His performances in recent games, however, spoke to a man who was enjoying his time at the club, particularly on the pitch in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s absence, while we know he is held in high esteem by his teammates, particularly the youngsters.

“My plan is to win a trophy with the club this season and it would be easy for me to pretend to have a contract extension,” he told The Sun.

“Everything is not only on my side, there is also the club, the manager. There are different things we have to think about.

“I don’t think it’s the right moment to talk about it.”

The comments also seem to have come before he did his hamstring against Fulham at the weekend, an injury we know nothing about because the club have said nothing since they dropped their ’12 teams’ tweet on Sunday night.

It did not look good. Lacazette had a look on his face reminiscent of Kieran Tierney when he knew his knee injury had finished his season.

Was the game against Fulham the last time we’ve seen Lacazette in an Arsenal shirt?

Quite possibly.
