Freddie Ljungberg is gearing up for his first home match in charge at the Emirates on Thursday.

Arsenal welcome Brighton to north London looking for their first league win since the beginning of October, and interim head coach Ljungberg will want to see an improvement on the 2-2 draw against Norwich at the weekend.

The Gunners created several chances in the opening stages of the game but fell behind when Teemu Pukki’s shot took a deflection and left Bernd Leno with no chance of making a save.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then scored either side of Todd Cantwell’s goal to ensure the visitors left Carrow Road with a point.

The result does mean that it’s now almost two months since the north London last taste victory, a run they’ll be desperate to end against Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday night.

Ljungberg is likely to still be in charge for the game at the Emirates Stadium and having fully fit squad to choose from will certainly boost the chances of all three points.

With that said, take a look at the latest Arsenal injury news and expected return dates.

Dani Ceballos

The midfielder was substituted early in the second half of the Europa League clash against Vitoria before the international break.

Ceballos pulled up with what looked like a hamstring problem while closing down an opponent and was replaced by Matteo Guendouzi in the 54th minute, despite appearing to want to continue.

Arsenal have revealed that the midfielder could be out of action for a bit longer yet after missing the last three Premier League games.

An update claimed that Ceballos will “return to training in mid-December”, meaning that the midfielder will miss the match against the Seagulls.

Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin was substituted in the second half of the match against Southampton last weekend, as Arsenal pushed for an equaliser.

The problem means that the 24-year-old has now missed games against Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Norwich.

He was being assessed by the medical staff ahead of the trip to Carrow Road, but Ljungberg opted against risking the Spaniard and opted for Calum Chambers at right-back.

Arsenal released an update on the defender on Tuesday, stating that he would be assessed ahead of the game due to a tight hamstring.

Emile Smith Rowe

It’s been an injury-hit season for the attacking midfielder thus far and he suffered a setback prior to the Europa League tie against Vitoria and was left out of the travelling squad.

We reported this was simply a precaution due to a tight calf muscle and that the injury is not a serious problem.

He did feature for the England U20’s during the international break.

Rob Holding was left out of the squad for the Europa League tie due to a knee injury, and also sat out the Norwich game with Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz the preferred partnership.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports reported that Kieran Tierney picked up a knock in training on Saturday which was the reason for him being an unused substitute against the Canaries.

Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil and Joe Willock were substituted against Norwich, but it’s likely that the changes were tactical decisions.
