Manchester United will offload Alexis Sanchez in the summer transfer window – even if means they have to buy the forward out, says ESPN FC’s Alejandro Moreno.
“New life for Manchester United [under Solskjaer], yes, across the board except for Alexis Sanchez – who had no life before and has no life now at United,” Moreno told ESPN FC.
“I don’t think he’s going to go to Juventus either. Because you look at this if you’re Juventus and say, ‘Uh uh, I’m not touching that whatsoever.’
“I think Alexis is going somewhere. He may just be released or bought out or whatever the case may be for United, I don’t think he plays for United from here on out.
“He’s been given multiple opportunities and he’s not taken advantage of them.”
His arrival at Old Trafford was perceived as a great coup for United’s pulling power and financial power and a victory for Jose Mourinho, albeit one that cost the club £450,000 a week.
The Chile international, who is likely to be sidelined for another month with a knee injury, has endured a frustrating time at Old Trafford since his move from Arsenal in January 2018, having managed just five goals in 41 appearances, with only two in 23 in this current injury-troubled season.
