Manchester United take on Derby County in their Carabao Cup third round clash this evening (8pm).

United were held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at the weekend, and go into the cup tie with three wins out of five in all competitions.

Ahead of tonight’s match, former Wolves striker and current Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has delivered his prediction.

Goodman reckons that the Rams will not progress to the next round, going for a 2-1 scoreline in favour of United.

“Jose Mourinho meets Frank Lampard in the dugout for the first time,” said Goodman.

“It just doesn’t seem to be a happy camp at Manchester United at the moment and there seem to be a lot of mixed messages coming out.

“It’s close to a must-win game for United. They need to take this seriously and play a strong team.

“It’s pretty much a free hit for Derby and Lampard will want to have a bit of a go at Old Trafford.

“I can’t quite see an upset here, though.”
