Arsenal are in the hunt for a new left back and Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno has been identified as a potential target, according to the Mirror.
The club’s first choice left back Nacho Monreal’s long term future has been under increasing doubt in recent times with reports linking him with a move back to his native Spain.
The 32-year-old has been one of the Gunners key players in the past few seasons, but has struggled with injuries this term.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been forced to use five different players at left back, with the likes of Sead Kolasinac, Stephane Lichtsteiner, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and even Granit Xhaka all featuring there at some point this season.
The Gunners are reportedly not convinced by second choice Kolasinac as a long-term replacement for Monreal and would rather look outside for a permanent option.
Alberto Moreno who played under Emery in Sevilla where he made his name before moving to Liverpool for £22 million is now believed to be the target.
The Spanish left back’s contract at Liverpool will run out in the summer, and he would be able to move to any club for nothing.
With Arsenal’s very limited budget, he seems like a very good option at the moment, and with his attacking flair, he would fit into Emery’s system just nicely.
