Liverpool will have to wait after the World Cup before finalising a deal for Nabil Fekir as the Lyon star determined to put on a show in Russia and increase the amount of options available to him.
Fekir himself, who told reporters after France’s 2-0 win over Ireland that he wouldn’t be moving anywhere until after the World Cup.
“Will Fabinho be my future team-mate? I will discuss my future after the World Cup not before,” he said.
“If I will sign somewhere before the World Cup? Honestly, I don’t know.”
Fekir was asked about his future after Fabinho had told French radio that he wanted his former Ligue 1 opponent to join him at Anfield.
“He is a very good player, of international level,” the Brazilian told RMC Sport.
“In Ligue 1, it is not only this season that he has demonstrated things. It’s been a few years since he demonstrates his quality.
“If he comes, it will be good too.”
