Jurgen Klopp’s press conference on Friday will hopefully tell us more about the availability of Sadio Mane (foot) and Andrew Robertson (dead leg), who are doubts for the trip to Burnley on Wednesday.
Changes are anticipated and indeed were hinted at by Klopp in his comments after the Merseyside derby, so the likes of Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Dejan Lovren could see action at Turf Moor should the Reds’ boss decide to rotate.
If Mane misses out, that may make rests for Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino less likely – though the Brazilian has looked jaded in recent weeks and could be dropped for Divock Origi or Daniel Sturridge.
Alberto Moreno will likely deputise if Robertson is unavailable, with Joe Gomez or Trent Alexander-Arnold making way for Lovren.
Updates are also awaited on Adam Lallana (muscle) and Dominic Solanke (groin).
Klopp has favoured a 4-2-3-1 in recent weeks and continuing with that formation remains a possibility, but Mane’s potential unavailability may make him reconsider switching back to a 4-3-3.
