A report via the Daily Star claims Arsenal have agreed personal terms and wage for Ever Banega with an announcement expected to happen this month.
Unai Emery has revealed Arsenal do not have any money to spend on permanent transfers in the January window, so any transfer activity will be limited to loan deals.
Emery knows 30-year-old Banega well with the pair working together at Sevilla and previously at Valencia and they have a good working relationship.
Estadio Deportivo report the Gunners have offered Banega a three-year deal in the hope they can land him as early as this month.
Arsenal are desperately trying to bring in new recruits before the end of the winter transfer window.
But Emery today played down his side’s transfer activity at present.
“We can only sign players later on. I know the club is working on possibilities of which players can help us with big performances like we need now,” he said.
“I can say to you that the club is working, the club is telling me the different situations in each moment.
“At the moment, we haven’t had any news today about that.”
Arsenal are also linked with a move for Denis Saurez from Barcelona and report suggest a loan deal has also been reached with a deal expected to be announced before the end of next week.
