Olympic Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted he wants to keep Arsenal target Nabil Fekir, even though he is aware he would receive numerous offers for the playmaker.
Arsenal are interested in signing Fekir, with Wenger believed to be keen on reuniting the midfielder with Lacazette.
The gifted playmaker formed a lethal partnership with Lacazette last season and it isn’t surprising that many Gooners are desperate for him to join us.
With Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez still yet to sign new deals at Arsenal, Wenger has apparently been on the look out for potential replacements and Fekir features highly on the boss’ wishlist.
It was recently claimed Arsenal and Lyon are in advanced talks over the transfer of Fekir but Aulas has now poured cold water on that report, suggesting he wants to keep the midfielder beyond the current campaign.
“Of course he’ll get offers, Aulas said, as quoted by gunnersphere.com. But that said, we’re going to do everything for Nabil to stay and I think he wants to stay.”
The Daily Star reported a deal is almost done and will cost Arsenal around £60m but that doesn’t appear to be true.
Arsenal are definitely going to be one of the clubs that will try to sign Fekir, whether we’ll be able to get him remains to be seen.
Fekir does look like one who would be a great signing for us. His potential is enormous and his ability to play as a no. 10 or either as a striker makes him the perfect Arsenal man.
