Manchester City appeared to be rubbing it into Chelsea as they played Madness track ‘One Step Beyond’ after hammering the Blues 6-0 at the Etihad on Sunday.

The ska song is a Stamford Bridge anthem that Chelsea play after big victories and it seemed to be a deliberate choice to wind up the beaten Londoners.

However, City officials made sure the song was stopped and issued an apology to the travelling fans, according to the Daily Mail.

Nevertheless, the home fans were very much enjoying taking the mick out of the Chelsea supporters after their comfortable victory.

Madness have a long association with Chelsea thanks to singer Graham ‘Suggs’ McPherson and drummer Dan ‘Woody’ Woodgate  being fans of the club.

The Blues not only play ‘One Step Beyond’ after big wins at Stamford Bridge, but also walk out onto the pitch to another ska track, ‘The Liquidator.’

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is under a huge amount of pressure after his side suffered their heaviest defeat in Premier League history.

A hat-trick from Sergio Aguero, two goals from Raheem Sterling and one for Ilkay Gundogan condemned Sarri’s side to the embarrassing defeat.

While City returned to the top of the Premier League table with the win, Chelsea sank to sixth due to their goal difference taking a big hit.

Chelsea do not have another Premier League fixture until 27 February as they have various cup commitments in the meantime.

The Blues travel to Malmo in the Europa League this Thursday and host the Swedes the following week.

Between those contests they take on Manchester united in the FA Cup and after the second Malmo tie they meet Manchester City in the EFL Cup final.
