Man United have identified Valencia’s Carlos Soler as a January target to replace Mhkitaryan and Juan Mata in the No. 10 position.

Soler at just 20 has already established himself as one of the brightest young talent in Europe since he broke into Valencia’s first team last year, and has attracted the attention of United boss Jose Mourinho.

The Daily Star believes that Mourinho is looking for a solution in his No. 10 postion with the futures of Henrik Mhkitaryan and Juan Mata uncertain at the moment.

According to Spanish paper Don Balon, Soler may replace Mhkitaryan, as the Armenian is out of favour at Old Trafford and will need to be replaced if he eventually moves in January, with Arsenal being mooted as a possible destination.

Carlos Soler, currently a Spanish Under-21 international also has the ability to play as a box to box midfielder, scoring once and assisting four times in Spanish league this season.

He is seen to be in the mold of Paul Pogba, which Mourinho thinks will make him succeed in the Premier League.

Mourinho wants a deal done as soon as January, and there is the option of allowing him return to Valencia until the end of the season.

Valencia look likely to hold out for his full £71 million release clause as they are not interested in selling, but Man United might tempt them with Juan Mata whom they are interested in bringing back to Spain.

United fans what do you think, should the club sign Carlos Soler? Drop your opinions in the comment section.

  1. Where does it say anywhere in this clickbait garbage that United have agreed to sell Mkhitaryan? Also, the word is “mould” “ not “mold”, unless of course you are American which would explain your inability to spell and your lack of football knowledge.
