Manchester United fans watched their team slump to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night and are perhaps more aggrieved that some incidents that occurred during the game.
They have called for the FA to retrospectively ban Jan Vertoghen after he allegedly grabbed Ander Herrera’s throat in an off the ball incident which the referee failed to spot during the game.
Ashley Young was handed a retrospective ban earlier this season for an elbow on Southampton’s Dusan Tadic and United fans believe the same should be done to Vertonghen.

Yes, we know we were bad in defence, played the wrong formation etc but the fa need to be consistent and look at the vertonghen incident…this was much worse than what AY did so 4-5 match ban atleast

Any retrospective action for Vertonghen’s throat grab? Probably not, as it wasn’t shown 75 times after the game like Young’s elbow.
