Manchester United are weighing up a move for Roma sensation Alisson, according to reports in Italy.
Alisson has had outstanding season for third-placed Roma in Serie A and the 25-year-old is regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in European football.
Liverpool are understood to be keen on Alisson but the Reds’ bitter rivals United have been putting feelers out for the £70million-rated Brazilian.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United are already asking around about Alisson as they search for David De Gea’s potential replacement at Old Trafford.
While Real Madrid have cooled their interest in De Gea in recent months, the Spaniard remains firmly on Zinedine Zidane’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Alisson admitted earlier this month that he finds Liverpool’s interest ‘flattering’ but insisted that he is fully focused on the remainder of Roma’s season.
‘I don’t know what will happen [in the summer]. Obviously, the interest makes me happy,’ the Brazil international said.
‘But I don’t think it’s a question of needing (to move). I know what I’m worth, not money wise, but as a player.’
Despite the rumours linking United with Alisson, Jose Mourinho is confident that De Gea will still be at the club next term. Asked if De Gea could leave in the summer, Mourinho replied: ‘No chance.’
