Manchester City are expected to make a move for Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, following Manchester United’s interest in the striker.
Jose Mourinho has joined the race to sign Sanchez and it’s been reported that the Portuguese tactician is confident he can lure the striker to the red half of Manchester despite Guardiola’s strong interest in the Chilean.
Sanchez was close to joining City on deadline day but the move fell through because Arsenal didn’t have enough time to bring in a replacement. It’s been said that the Etihad club will return for the striker in January but the chances of doing so is set to be complicated by interest from rival clubs.
The London Evening Standard [via MCFC Watch] are now claiming City could launch a £25m in January in order to beat rivals to the striker’s signature.
Despite the numerous interest in the striker, City are still favorites to sign the striker but Guardiola doesn’t want to take rival interest for granted.
Apparently, Sanchez won’t sign a new contract at Arsenal, so it might make so much sense to sell him in January if City or any other club comes up with a considerable offer. However, this should depend on our position on the table in January. Paradventure, we stand a great chance of winning the league title, we know keeping Sanchez to help us win the league will make more sense than weakening our squad by letting him leave.
