Gary Neville believes Alexis Sanchez’s arrival at Old Trafford has caused more harm than good at Manchester United.

Sanchez joined from Arsenal in the January transfer window, and the former United defender is adamant his signing has damaged Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford’s reputation.

‘He brought Alexis Sanchez into the club and look at what’s happened to them since Alexis Sanchez came in,’ Neville told Sky Sports.

‘If you look at the actual stats and you think about before Sanchez arrived at the club, they were playing quite a bit of football, they were scoring goals and contributing, they had assists.

‘But since Alexis Sanchez has come to the club, obviously he’s played a lot of the games, and that’s what’s happened.

‘There’s been a big impact negatively, so they’ve [Rashford and Martial] got to get back to the standards they were setting earlier in the season and what they’re capable of.’

Manchester United’s next fixture is against West Ham on May 10 in the Premier League.

  1. That is a good lesson for Mourinho , so he should stop using Manchester United financial clouts to snatch other clubs best players by offering £350,000 / a week . Alexis Sanchez is now 29 years old and is driving out two 20 years old outstanding talents. Arsenal should do their best to sign Rashford and Martial or at least one of them so that Mourinho will think twice before trying to snatch another Arsenal player .

  2. Mourinho is simply a big f**l ,he has not learnt his lesson yet . @Chelsea salah, de bryne ,and a long list of young talents he has destroyed while playing under him. Now u wonder why pep is better. THE answer is simple Pep know how to make young players grow to be better
Young players need love and encoyragement not the rubbish mentality that mourinho is stupidly chasing abt. football has evolved
