PSG star and Manchester United target Marco Verratti is reportedly tempted to join Barcelona with the player keen on the wages he would earn at the Nou Camp.

Manchester United and Barcelona were heavily linked with a move to sign PSG midfielder Verratti back in the summer when the player’s future at the Parc des Princes was shrouded in uncertainty.

However, the Ligue 1 giants sensationally responded by luring Neymar to France instead.

Many feel that, because of Barcelona’s strained relationship with PSG, the club will not be exchanging players anytime soon.

But Spanish outlet Diario Madridista say Verratti is tempted to push for a move to Barcelona when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The Italy international could leave to pursue a new challenge.

He has helped PSG dominate French football during his time at the club, with the Champions League the only trophy to elude him.

Barcelona could strengthen their midfield amid uncertainty over the futures of Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta.

Rakitic is being tipped to join Juventus, with Liverpool and Arsenal interested in luring him away from the Nou Camp.

Iniesta, meanwhile, may opt to leave after Barcelona signed Philippe Coutinho in January.

Diario Madidista say Verratti is not the only PSG player tempted by a move.

Winger Angel Di Maria is also interested in making the move to Catalonia.

And, speaking recently, he admitted he was close to a move to Barcelona back in August.

“I was very close to Barcelona, but because of the football things it could not be done,” he said.
