Manchester United have entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic.

The USA international has been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool but United are determined not to miss out on the talented 20-year-old. Pulisic would cost approximately £70m. (€78.9 million) (Sport Bild)

Dortmund aren’t willing to let him leave in January, but Pulisic will have just one year remaining on his contract with them come next summer.

The winger only turned 20 in September, but he has already made 23 appearances for the United States, scoring nine goals.

He has only started four times in the Bundesliga this term, though, as a couple of injuries and the form of Jadon Sancho has left him a little sidelined.

And reacting to the news that United could be interested, fans recalled an interview earlier this year where Pulisic said he was a United fan when he was growing up, and felt that they had the edge in any transfer battle with their Premier League rivals.

“Yeah, I was. I was definitely a big fan,” he told ESPN in quotes carried by The Independent.

“Of course, right now I am under contract with Dortmund and I’m not looking around or doing anything like that so I’m very focused there. But, yeah, it’s cool to hear all this stuff!

“Of course, the Premier League is an unbelievable league. You never know in football what can happen, so right now, I’m focused with Dortmund, and yeah, that’s that.”
