According to reports in France from Telefoot, claims Manchester United would be willing to offer €50 million in a bid to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille.

The Ivorian international continues to deliver stellar performances for Les Dogues, which only increases the number of suitors for his services

The 23-year-old has had a hand in 15 goals (eight goals, seven assists) in all 12 top-flight games so far and that’s a pretty fascinating stat for a man who is predominantly a right-winger. .

It is understood Lille rejected an offer of £26m from Olympique Lyonnais for Pepe.

The Red Devils were linked with a deal to sign Pepe over the summer and Jose Mourinho’s men will be hoping that their long-standing interest will give them an advantage.

The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all been rumoured to have interest in the eight-time capped Ivorian.

The Red Devils are in dire need of a natural right-winger, a position that has been a strength for them down the years but utilising the likes of Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Marital – who aren’t natural widemen – has led to inconsistency.

  1. I thought both Valencia and Ashely Young were natural wingers. Why are they playing in defensive roles? And if that’s the case why didn’t the reds sign Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer when he was there for the taking? He told the press only Juventus made an offer for him. That means Man Utd let the game changer slip through their fingers. If it was the money – then Ed Woodward must be living on cloud nine – the merchandising alone that the player’s name would have sold alone would have made the buy worthy of the 100 million paid by Juventus. Never mind the fact he is still on top of his game. Everybody keeps saying Jose has to go – I think Ed Woodward should go because he is running the football club like he runs any business. He is disrespectful to the fans and all he cares about are pounds shillings and pence. Doesn’t give a toss about Man Utd’s traditions, playing techniques or the reputation of the club and most certainly doesn’t care about all the fans that week in week out are paying prices to watch the players costing them an arm and a leg both home and away.
